Treatment · OtherBack liftA Back Lift, also called back tightening, is an aesthetic procedure to remove excess skin and tighten the upper or middle back. Especially after significant weight loss or age-related skin sagging, the procedure creates a smooth, contoured back area. The goal is a harmonious body image and increased self-confidence.

Description
Reshape and tighten the back
The goal of a back lift is to improve the contour of the back and tighten the skin – individually adapted to the needs of the patient. Excess skin is often removed and liposuction is performed to achieve a smooth, defined appearance. Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure in which fat tissue is selectively removed through fine cannulas and only a few millimeter-sized incisions. The skin incisions for removing excess skin are placed so that they later lie inconspicuously in the area of the bra line. If there is only little fat and the skin is still elastic, liposuction alone may be sufficient to achieve the desired result.

Before the procedure
Important notes for surgery preparation
To ensure you are optimally prepared for the surgery, you should refrain from alcohol, nicotine, and blood-thinning medications at least two weeks before the procedure. A stable weight is crucial – crash diets shortly before surgery can negatively affect the result. If the back lift is performed under general anesthesia, the following applies: from 10 PM the evening before, no more eating and only clear water to drink. Plan for time off – at least one week of recovery time is recommended, depending on the extent of the procedure.

Aftercare
After the operation: This is important for healing
In the first days after the procedure, swelling, bruising and a feeling of tightness are normal. Your mobility may be temporarily limited, so physical rest is essential. Wearing a compression garment or special bandage supports healing and helps improve the scar appearance. Avoid physically strenuous activities as well as sun, sauna or solarium in the first weeks. Cooling applications and a balanced diet promote the healing process and help you maintain the aesthetic result long-term.
